I've only glanced through the report so far, but I wonder if Thumbprint is the only UK-made tool mentioned. Not the only UK activity, of course, but the only one where the tool, the space-for-participation, the 1s and 0s, is made in the UK.
If it is, I'd say that reflects the fact that The-Rest-of-the-World has been using SMS a lot longer than the US, Twitter not withstanding.
Thumbprint is probably the only one other than Wordpress that's made by a cooperative community interest company as well.
