The thing I've learned from having a camera with me everywhere is exactly how much time, effort, practise, mistakes, front and determination must go into being a real* photographer.
Camera phones and moblogs are usually defined in terms of citizen journalism and such like, people having a camera at hand to record some abuse of power or shocking event.
Which is all very well, but that's once in a lifetime, if ever.
In the meantime having one has a least made me stop mooching around with my hands in my pockets counting the cracks in the pavement and look for something to see in the world (even if it's just a posse of roadsweepers a-ridin' into town).
If camera phones get millions of us doing that for five minutes a week the world won't be any the worse for it.
*"real" being someone who is prepared to put in all the time, effort...
